We just received these beautiful pictures from a customer in Arizona. Just love the home and how the candles look in her various candleholders. Always a pleasure for us to see!
Safely storing candles for future use is easy. The most important thing is to keep them in a dry, cool, dark place.
- Each candle should be individually wrapped in un-dyed tissue paper to avoid scratches
- Lie them down to avoid warping
- Store them in a closet or drawer inside the house to assure a comfortable temperature
- Avoid light. Exposure to light over a prolonged period of time will fade the color of your candles
- You may wish to store taper candles in a paper tube e.g. a paper towel roll
So go ahead, pack up your candles for future use.
Fall has finally arrived in Sea Cliff and we are embracing it with new colors. The burnt orange is the first to be rolled out. There are more to come. Stay tuned!

After decluttering and organizing for 2016 it is time to think about your home decor. PANTONE announced their Colors of the Year 2016 as Rose Quartz and Serenity. Yes two colors... Pink and Blue.
We can totally relate to what the colors represent, from PANTONE's website "As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent. Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace." Relaxation and tranquility are exactly what candles are all about. That's why we are so jazzed to come out with our interpretation of this year's colors.
As always, relax and enjoy...
What happened three years ago on a cozy spring night when a commercial banker and a drummer enjoyed a glass of wine together on their screened in porch? We looked around at our candles and started talking about how we would love to create our own candle collection.
Our vision is to create a line that is modern, yet incorporated the basic elements of nature into our designs. We are inspired by river rocks, marble, sea glass, tree bark and the basic elements: earth, water, air and fire. We feel our textures and colors add a little bit of nature, enhancing the modern home with warmth and light. For us it is about a great burning candle, that lasts and looks great even when not lit.
Besides an aesthetic candle we wanted to create a product we could feel good about from an environmental stand point. We conduct extensive research on our processes and materials and only use what we feel will provide a clean burning candle with a minimal environmental impact. We diligently test burn every batch. This may cause a longer time in production and is at many times frustrating when we are working to get it just right. However, it is worth it to hear time and time again: "At first, I bought your candles for their look, now I buy them for their look and their burn."
It took three years before Nordic Candle was finally launched as a full time business, but today the former banker and still rocking drummer hand make decorative candles out of their studio in Sea Cliff, NY. All with a lot of help from our friends and support from our awesome village.
We hope our candles add a little ambiance and coziness to your space.
Relax & Enjoy!
